2011 Update
We had an excellent winter road season given the cold weather and snowfall
experienced this winter. Road crews in the First Nation communities worked
hard to build the winter roads and deliveries started a couple days into
February and ended the last day of March. Full loads got underway the third
week of February on most roads so freight costs were minimized. Our clients
were able to obtain all the product they originally arranged for and many topped
up their tanks during the last couple weeks of March. This year was a complete
turnaround from the poor winter road season in 2010.
Winter roads just don’t happen. Thanks go to our great staff in Pickle Lake
including Sam McKay, Samantha Keesickquayash, Chris Bott, James Derouin
and Mike Shewan. Thanks are also extended to our business partners
including Morgan Transfer, Paul’s Hauling, Central Canada Fuels and OLCO.
Last but not least, we would like to thank our clients for their support. Without
them, we wouldn’t have the successful business we do.
Recent exciting news involves the re-purchase of Wasaya Petroleum shares
owned by a minority partner in Winnipeg.
Wasaya Petroleum is now wholly owned by the 10 communities who make up
Wasaya Group.
